As an experienced orchestral player, I enjoy performing with professional orchestras including the Hallé and Royal Northern Sinfonia. I have worked with conductors such as Sir Mark Elder, Peter Stark and Markus Stenz, and have performed in many renowned music venues such as Cadogan Hall, The Sage, The Bridgewater Hall and The Royal Opera House. I recently worked with Manchester Sinfonia to record a CD featuring works for string orchestra and harp.
Whilst a postgraduate student at the Royal Northern College of Music, I was selected to participate in the BBC Philharmonic’s orchestral placement scheme and awarded the reserve place for the London Philharmonic Orchestra’s Future Firsts Scheme. In 2017 I was appointed principal harpist for the newly formed ProYouth Philharmonia and toured with the European Union Youth Wind Orchestra in Luxembourg, Germany and the Netherlands. During my postgraduate studies at the RNCM I was also principal harpist in a joint orchestral project with Paris Conservatoire which involved concerts in Paris, London and Manchester.
I have enjoyed using my orchestral experience to support educational and outreach work through my work as a tutor for Yorkshire Young Sinfonia and the Junior RNCM department, running sectionals and mentoring students during rehearsals. Prior to my postgraduate studies I also spent two years working at a school in North London as part of the Teach First Leadership Development Programme where I helped to establish a school orchestra for the first time and secured positions and funding for 5 pupils in the National Orchestra for All, rehearsing with them in preparation for performances at Alexandra Palace and Leeds Arena.
If you would like me to perform with your orchestra please get in touch.
